Pakistan's Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi arrived in Tehran to discuss border and security issues, being welcomed by his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni.

Why it matters:

Pakistan renewed his country's support for Iran in all diplomatic forums, including the UN Security Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

 

The big picture:

During the visit, the issues of the border, security, and facilitation of pilgrimages from Pakistan to Iran will be discussed.

  • The interior ministers of Iran, Pakistan, and Iraq will also hold a tripartite meeting about managing the Arba'een pilgrimage.

 

What's next:

According to the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan, Naqvi is going to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
